For Kids: Faith | Pentecost 17 (Lectionary 27) | Year C
Opening Song: The Apostles' Creed
Big Idea: Jesus says even a little faith can do great things (Luke 17:5-10)
Story: "A Seed of Faith" | Spark Story Bible pg. 394
Bible Story Video: Faith Like a Little Mustard Seed
Ask: What color do we have in the Sanctuary during the whole summer? (Green)
Do you know why we use Green during the summer? ...
It reminds us that we are growing. Tell me, what does a big tree begin its life as? (A seed).
Show me how big a seed is...
Show me how big a tree is...
Big things can come from small things.
Say: Today's lesson teaches that even a little faith is enough to do great things. Sometimes, we think only super special people can do great things for Jesus. That's not true. By doing simple things, like being kind, loving others, and helping those in need - we are doing something great! Jesus wants us to do these "simple" things because they are really great big things in His eyes! Doing small things makes a big difference.

Activity Sheets or Play
After the song, hand out the activity sheets. Younger children are welcome to play with the Duplos (encourage them to play out a story that fits with the lesson).
End with the Lord's Prayer when the Usher comes to let you know the prayers have started.
