For Kids: Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind | Lent 4 | Year A

Opening Song: The Apostles' Creed

Big Idea: Jesus loves people, no matter what their bodies can or can't do.

Story: "Pool of Siloam" | Spark Story Bible, pg. 432

Action (from the story): Close your eyes. Think of your favorite things to see. Open your eyes, thanking God for all you see.

Let's watch a video to learn more about this story...

Lesson Video | Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

Ask: Today, we're going to watch a video on what it's like to be blind.

Say: Jesus healed people when He was here. Not all people are healed today though. However, we can still share the good news of Jesus with all people, because He loves everyone - people who can see and people who can't; people who can hear and people who can't hear; people who can walk or can't walk. Jesus loves each and every person - including you!

Action for the Kids - Say: This week, look around and thank God for the things you see. But also, thank God for helping us see the goodness of Jesus and seeing the ways we can follow Him.

Song for Kids: Amazing Grace

Think of the living water that Jesus offers the woman as we sing this song.

Activity Sheets or Play

After the song, hand out the activity sheets. Younger children are welcome to play with the Duplos (encourage them to play out a story that fits with the lesson).

End with the Lord's Prayer when the Usher comes to let you know the prayers have started.

(If you need more time)

  • Go around the room and ask the children to share something they are thankful for this week.

  • Ask them if there is anything or anyone they would like to pray for this week.

Ending Song: The Lord's Prayer
