For Kids: Pentecost 3 (Lectionary 13) | Year C
Opening Song: The Apostles' Creed
It is still the time of Pentecost (the day the Holy Spirit came) and today we are learning about how what the Bible calls "the fruit of the Spirit".
Lesson: The Fruit of the Spirit
Note for parents: Crossroads Kids' Club has a video on each of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit!
Ask: If someone said, "I'm nice!" but then took away a toy you were playing with - would you think they were really nice? ... What if someone said "I'm loving!" but then said something hurtful to you - would you think they are really loving? ... And if someone said, "I'm joyful!" but was grumpy all the time - would you believe them?
Say: It is our actions that show that the Holy Spirit is really in us! If we act like the Holy Spirit by doing the fruit of the Spirit, then we know the Holy Spirit is working to make us more like Jesus. If we don't act like Jesus, then we should pray that the Holy Spirit starts working in our lives soon!
