For Kids: Pentecost 7 (Lectionary 17) | Year C

Opening Song: The Apostles' Creed

Today we are learning about asking, seeking, and knocking!

Lesson: The Lord's Prayer, Jesus Calling Bible Storybook pg. 162

Bible Story Video: The Friend at Midnight

(Alternate OT Video for Lot, Sodom & Gamora:

Ask: What was happening in the story?

What happens when you ask your parents something over and over and over again? Are they happy about it or not really?

What if someone asks you to do something over and over and over again? Do you like when that happens or is it annoying?

What if you were stuck or hurt and needed help and no one was around...would you keep yelling and asking for someone to help you?

Say: God listens to us when we ask him for things we need. The thing is, sometimes we think we need something and God knows we don't, so He doesn't give it to us. Do you think if you kept asking God for toys or desserts, He would magically make them show up? No. Sometimes, we need wisdom or peace or strength - we need help - and that's when we can ask God over and over and over again to help us.
