When I heard about this show, I was skeptical. I tend to be highly critical of Christian movies or shows. But when I saw a preview for The Chosen, it actually looked good. And it was. Several times it brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.
Season 1 presents the calling of the disciples. Sure, some artistic liberty is taken in giving each disciple some backstory, but this liberty gives the details we already know so well a very human and relatable feel. The way they chose to depict Jesus is by far my favorite out of all the depictions I have ever seen.
All this to say, perhaps you and your family would enjoy this as we did.
