Q&A

- Do you remember the name of the man in our story today? (Gideon)

- What did God want him to do? (Free God's people from the other nation)

- Did God want him to fight the other nation with a big army and lots of weapons or was it a very small army with trumpets? (Small army with trumpets)

God can do anything, He didn’t even need a big army with lots of weapons to make the other nation leave. Jesus says that with God all things are possible, so we should always remember that.

Memory Verse

When God wanted to rescue His people from a nation called Midian, He did it through a guy named Gideon. But God didn't do it in a way that one would expect: instead of having Gideon get together a huge army with lots of fighters, God told him to only take a few people with trumpets. God worked with the "bare necessities". This is just one of the many stories in the Bible where God does something that people could never do without God on their side. Jesus says: "There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything." Jesus wants us to remember that, especially when things get difficult in life.

Matthew 19:26 — "There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything."

Memory Tip:

"He's got the whole world in His hands" melody (no verse reference).

There are some things that people -- cannot do --

There are some things that people -- cannot do --

There are some things that people -- cannot do -- but God can doooooo -- anything!

Snack

Today's snack is Bugles!

Why? — Because it reminds us of the horns that God told Gideon and his army to blow.
