Music Ministries of Saint Luke's

ADULT CHOIR

Sept-June, Thursdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary | High School and Up

Our choir of equally balanced Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, & Bass rehearse mid-September - early June, Thursdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. We sing twice a month, or more with feast days, warming up on Sundays at 9:00 am to sing for the 9:30 am worship service. A specific rehearsal and worship schedule will be given to you.

This is an entirely volunteer choir (14-18 members) made up of singers of all backgrounds, some musical, some not able to read musical notes at all. But all enjoy singing God's praise in song. There's never an audition, merely a personal desire to sing praise to our Lord and give service of your talent to this very welcoming and friendly church community.

A variety of styles of music are chosen for our choral selections, featuring music from the classics (dipping in occasionally to Gregorian Chant) through more contemporary composers of the more traditional style, such as John Rutter, Gaither, and Bock.

If interested, please email saintlukes@saintlukes-cs.org with your name and phone number. Katy Mayne, our Director of Music, will call you at her first opportunity.

HANDBELL CHOIR

Thursdays, 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary | High School and Up
The Psalmist tells us "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" And there's no better way than the joyful ringing of our Hand Bell Choir at Saint Luke's. We currently have several ringers and have enough bells to have several more. Music is selected to accommodate the size of the group. This group can expand, but only if you're interested.

We rehearse on Mondays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the sanctuary and ring once a month for worship. We meet on that Sunday at 9:00 am for practice before the 9:30 am service. A specific rehearsal and worship schedule will be given to you.

As with the vocal choir, there's never an audition, only a personal desire to praise our Lord through music and give service of your talent to this very welcoming and friendly church community. Because the ringers DO indeed have to find their notes in a musical score, some basic note reading and counting abilities are necessary. But the Director of Music is also a music teacher and is happy to get you started on learning music notation right away so you can participate in the group.

If interested, please email saintlukes@saintlukes-cs.org with your name and phone number. Katy Mayne, our Director of Music, will call you at her first opportunity.  â€‹
