For Kids: Thankfulness | Pentecost 18 (Lectionary 28) | Year C

Opening Song: The Apostles' Creed

Big Idea: Jesus says even a little faith can do great things (Luke 17:11-19)

Story: "Ten Men Healed" | Spark Story Bible pg. 390

Bible Story Video: The Thankful Leper

Ask: When someone does something nice for you, what do you do? (Say thank you? Not say anything? Do something nice for others?)

If you do something nice for someone, what would you like them to do?

How does it feel when no one says thank you for something nice you did?

How do you think Jesus felt when 9 of then 10 men didn't come back to say thank you?

Say: What are the two most important things we can do? Love...God and love others. Right?

This story today is about loving God. Only one of them men showed love to God by thanking Jesus for this miracle.

We talk a lot about loving others, but one way we can show love to God is by thanking Him for saving us from our sins and for giving us eternal life with Him! Saying "thank you" is a way to show love, so let's think of some things to say "thank you" to God for right now...
